Marinaio a piedi is a temporary poster installation kindly hosted by Mustafa Hulusi, which was on display at the corner between Hoxton street and Old street during December 2016.

This poster print is meant as a first hint for a more articulated project that I plan to develop in the coming future. The graphic elements represented are taken from my personal iconography of nostalgia, referring to things and places from familiar corners of Italy. Marinaio a piedi is the starting point of a reflexion on material loss and the physical and mental state of transition - a highly relevant subject to me, both on a macroscopic and microscopic level.

The title is taken from an autobiographical book written by my grandfather, Ivo Potenza, where he recalls the trip that took him by foot from Kastellorizo to Genova during WWII.
